These two landscapes speak to resilience and time. Yosemite's granite cathedrals stand as monuments to geological patience, stone shaped over millennia by water and weather. Big Sur's coastline embodies constant transformation. The recent reopening of Highway 1 reminds us that even the most dramatic landscapes are fluid, ever-changing, carved not just by centuries but by seasons.
I shot this journey on Kodak Ektar H35 and Kodak Gold 200 film, a deliberate choice to slow down and be present with each frame rather than chase endless digital captures. Driving from Los Angeles through Big Sur and up to Yosemite, each exposure felt intentional, a conversation between light and time. In photographing both places on film, I'm documenting not fixed monuments but living geological narratives, one frame at a time.
